Biography
Biba Giacchetti is a curator, advisor and communication strategist.
She was born in Rome and studied in Paris. After obtaining her law degree, she worked many years in communications.
Then she met Elliott Erwitt, her mentor and friend, and her life changed.
For the past 25 years, she has been working with the greatest photographers in the world including Steve McCurry, Elliott Erwitt, James Nachtwey, Eugene Richards, Eolo Perfido and Mary Ellen Mark.
In 2002 Biba founded Sudest57, center of excellence for the creation of cultural projects with companies and cultural sector.
She has curated over 85 exhibitions in major Italian and international museums that have achieved unprecedented success, including those of Steve McCurry, of whom she has the exclusive, Elliott Erwitt, Zanele Muholi, Tina Modotti, Kurt Amman, Dario Mitidieri, Joey Lawrence, Eolo Perfido.
She is the author of important publications, she gives lectures, writes for magazines, works on documentaries and follows the acquisitions of fine art prints for private and public collectors.
In 2024 she founded Orion57 her new brain child: a curatorial hub specialized in exhibitions and corporate/brand communication trough photography.
